I had a moderate TBI 14 months ago. I have recently quit working due to inability to manage my work load. I was a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I found multi-tasking and memory as well as my emotions, to be the cuprits in my inability to manage. I get brain fog that is exhausting and require frequent rests. I also do not enjoy events that I try to attend. I cannot stand noise or interruptions. It cause the fog to worsen right away. I do not know what I will do from this point on. I am taking one day at a time. My neurologist has recommended that I apply for SSDI and has written a letter on my behalf.
Hello Penny, I, Robert R. Sadler are going to take a road trip over Bellingham way for several weeks to check out the area around several members I recently met at the PEOPLE FIRST camp out. I am really looking forward to this journey, and there may possibly be a move that way to follow. If you could send me some names, dates, and locations for survivor BIAWA, TBI, and PEOPLE FIRST meetings and or functions I would greatly apprecite it. It was sure nice getting to see you, your daughter and your close friend, It's really powerful getting to share with a person when you can see that individual relating through the eyes. Sometimes the words are not necessary.
Hi Penny, I hope you got the info where our meetings are this month. Feel free to call me and let me know when you can make it. we would love to have you come. I do not get on the net often so this is not the best way to contact me. If is difficult. I will pop in when I can.. During the summer months we do more outings than normal... time for some summer fun.

"Keep your head up. It does get better over time, but you have to be patient and you have to work at strengthening your mind, while allowing (and I stress this) it to recover. I am five years removed from a moderate TBI and spinal cord…"
