Comment by Kerry Mischka on May 30, 2012 at 7:55am Hi Joel-
I'm not really okay, but I was happy to have someone at least tell me what it was. My doctor tried to start me on thyroid, but my body hates most drugs and I did not do well on it. So, I found a medical nutritionist that helped me try to address it without drugs. It is expensive, but I prefer to do it through diet and exercise. She adjusted my diet and did a blood test to let me know my specific food sensitivities and told me to stop eating or taking anything that had gluten in it. Both doctors seem to think that it is related somehow to my brain injury because of the pituitary gland in the brain. Frustrating.
Comment by Kerry Mischka on May 29, 2012 at 3:04pm I have had major weight problems since my brain injury. I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease which creates issues with my thyroid. This is a nightmare for me as I am a 43 year old female. Everyone says it is like riding a roller coaster when you are around me. I don't even realize it, but that is what people tell me and it cost me a great marriage. Kerry
