So, over the last year or so, I've had trouble eating, I'm 5/11.5, and only weigh 71.6kg, before my crash, my 'fighting weight' was 88kg, the heaviest I got to was 94kg.

I think I'm a tad underweight, I've been taking 'Roacutain' for the last couple of months, to clear up my acne, especially on my back, and just found out loss of appetite and loss of weight are two big side effects.I'm off it now!

But even before I was on 'Roacutain', my appetite was low.

Who else has or had weight issues due to TBI?

Hi Joel-

I'm not really okay, but I was happy to have someone at least tell me what it was.  My doctor tried to start me on thyroid, but my body hates most drugs and I did not do well on it.  So, I found a medical nutritionist that helped me try to address it without drugs.  It is expensive, but I prefer to do it through diet and exercise.  She adjusted my diet and did a blood test to let me know my specific food sensitivities and told me to stop eating or taking anything that had gluten in it.  Both doctors seem to think that it is related somehow to my brain injury because of the pituitary gland in the brain.  Frustrating.

Are you ok now Kerry? Was it related to your brain injury?

I have had major weight problems since my brain injury.  I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease which creates issues with my thyroid.  This is a nightmare for me as I am a 43 year old female.  Everyone says it is like riding a roller coaster when you are around me.  I don't even realize it, but that is what people tell me and it cost me a great marriage.  Kerry

Cheers Arthur,

I stopped the shit on Monday

Wow that artical is amazing!

I took roacutaine about 15 yrs ago, with no side affects, my younger sis took it about 9 yrs ago, and got bad depression, I was more worried about that than anything else........

Anyway, my acne is the least of my worries.......
Tyvm again,

Joel
