Going through the loss of Love
Recently, my Fiance...who has been with me for approximately 11 years, separated. This last week has been a lesson in the pain from loosing the love who had been with me, even through my accident which caused my tbi - and even my 3 month coma. At first, I could only start arguing with her....which was really a sign of the intense emotional pain I was, at first, going through. But, since our separation I have been reflecting on the stress and pain she must have experienced due to my TBI and…

All My Friends Ride Low Riders
I got a new indoor scooter this weekend. It’s a big change for me. I used to get tired from walking and being on my feet because the nerve that goes down my back and in my leg is always in pain. The constant muscle spasms and cramps made me weary at about 4pm. I took my scooter shopping last weekend and came home with no pain! This activity usually makes me dead tired. So naturally I took it to school today, but I didn’t like it. People treated me strangely and even stared. I felt…

background on my TBI
I’m posting this because I got a little wordy in another members board post and didn’t want to highjack her thread any further.
It’s been almost 6 years since my TBI event – October 18th. I was working at my 2nd job at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as a Corporal on the security team. That evening I responded to a call from an employee of 3 men riding motorcycles at the ASC building. I was fully uniformed, driving the security truck and arrived with the amber light…

thoughts on limits
Limits are self imposed. Limits are also put there by the fear from others. I wasn't really aware of much during the early days post the injury...after i was out of the 2 month rehab. I don't really think much about it except when something sparks (emails from posts on this site).
The coma was pretty severe and the post neurosurgery 6 months later was no picnic either. Mostly because i was alone and 16 and family pretty much entertained themselves with me. This feeling i got…

A TBI thought of the day...
I think that one of the reasons TBI is so hard to get used to is the fact that everyday is so different in terms of how you feel....you know? Some days I feel "dizzy" then other days I feel more "tired"....then other days my attention is less than my big nose....and so forth.....
Some days I talk to myself, especially in the morning.....My new cat (Cookie) meows at me then I talk to her!!! Anyone else reading this talk to themself especially in the morning?
Anyway, it could be…
