I have tried many cocktails (neurologist term) for my pain and headache management. I take a ton of medications and nothing seems to work. I take different medications for different things, it seems like I am just being handed more and more pills with no results.
Does anyone get biofeedback or cognitive help. I used to but they wont let me go anymore. I am trying to find someplace to get some information about getting some help.
Can someone share what…

Life has amazed me. At least my new life. It is hard for other people (outsiders) to understand what life is like with TBI. I am beside myself as to how my life has changed and continues to change. I hope that being on this site will help me find others that can understand my rollercoaster ride. I used to see myself as indistructable now I have been destructed. I hope that someone can understand this other than me. I try so hard to explain my life but no one…

It has been a long haul but I think the Doctors & myself are finally getting to the point that my meds are at an appropriate level. I feel good, am thinking better and have a pretty good outlook on life.
I used to be a "card carrying" no medication individual and it was tough for me to accept that I may be on medication for the rest of my life. It still is, but, the meds are working and I am a much happier person who can now start to rebuild my life.
So, so…

The last few weeks have been a good time for me. My son started the second grade, fall soccer and flag football have started and our weather has started to change with cool evenings and mornings. It feels like a new year, a rebirth.
I also feel my body is getting used to the daily medication regimes I am now on. In short, life is going well.
Next Thursday I return to work after an extended leave of absence. While…

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live. I am happy to see you decided to stop by to visit with me. As a person living with a brain injury and an invisible disability I some times feel like a weed. I am

I've been quiet for the last month contemplating life, working at rehab and trying to accept that I really may not ever be the same. This is scary stuff and trying to grasp everything in a comprehensive way has taken a toll not only on me but also on those who love me as well.
I am scheduled to return to work on September 2, 2010 and I am stressed about it. Stressed about possibly failing. Stressed that I may become not just un-employed but…

I did not know it but i started my life climbing a mountain.
Trying to find a place, gain acceptance; slipping through my fingers, choking it down like warm water in a fountain.
As a child i ran around, my spirit so free, i had no idea that things would matter.… Continue
