My name is Craig Sears and I am a survivor of Traumatic Brain Injury; In the early 1990's I became a member of Connecticut's class action lawsuit working along with the Connecticut Brain Injury Association advocating for Connecticut's Acquired Brain Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury (ABI) Medicaid Waiver.
As you may know I have had a lot of problems with the state o f Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) taking advantage of me. It has become very obvious they are also doing it…

My name is Craig Sears and I am a survivor of a Traumatic Brain Injury TBI this event changed each and every single aspect of my life. I suffered my injury in 1987. In the years that followed there was little knowledge on TBI in the medical field and even less in the public. As a result, my physical injuries were confused with intoxication or drug abuse and my brain injury misdiagnosed as mental illness. I was falsely arrested and institutionalized time and time again. My life turned into a…

My name is Craig Sears and I am a survivor of a Traumatic Brain Injury TBI. The US says we have rights; but the State's trample all over them as if they are immune to our constitutional rights. Here is an example of how the Department of Social Services DSS tries to pull one over on us. I've been a participant in the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Waiver Program for several years in Connecticut every year around June or July I have an Annual Review! State Team Meeting to reevaluate me to see if…

Thanks for your reply.....I really cannot figure out why you haven't written a book. What you write on this site is a clear indication of your intelligence and capabilities you have to articulate your words. You are a truly amazing individual that is an inspiration to all of us. Rock on for all the causes you have given your voice to. I support all that you are doing...especially for children. It is an absolute blessing to know who you are and to know your story. God Bless you and please keep up the positive good work you have done and will continue to do. You have left an indelible mark on this world. Take Care. Kerry
Kerry Mischka said… Wanna know something that is really sad and discouraging.....I started out as a volunteer at the VA here in Florida.....Even there I ended up resigning after a year as people were extremely intolerant. I have such a heart for our soldiers and I miss them dearly. It was the one job that I had where I felt normal, but ended up having to resign as a result of my brain injury. Just a bit frustrating. My accident was from being hit by a driver that had no insurance....I survived, but he went on living his life....I forgive him. If he only knew the real damage that he has done.....
