Steven, the Dr. has me on Zolpidem 10 MG (Ambien ) I fall right to sleep but wake up once, about 1:30 am, mainly because my dog (Gracie ) and I have things to do.... and I go right back to sleep.. I have to nap most days, so listen to your body.
The reason I ask about your work....about 8-10 years ago I had my own Computer Support Company in North Carolina.....During the years I had the company, I did not sleep much at all....My minds was always "processing Thoughts" - I mean, it drove me nuts....I did take some sort of PM sleep aids for a very long time....When I should have seen a Doctor.....Sleep aids are okay, on a periodic level...then the brain should adjust its sleep/wake cycle on its own.....
Well, actually my Fiance (non-TBI) has sleep problems due to her mind always thinking alot when she tries going to sleep......her doctor has her taking Zolpidem 5 MG...take 45 minutes before going to bed......cut down on coffee, of course), but also cut down on television at night before bed....in other words cutting down on excess brain-stimulation.....and geting her brain's sleep-wake cycle to adjust to less brain activity at night. She sleeps much better now......Zolpidem is "Ambien"...I think, it contains much less tired after effects of normal sleep aids. Now she is very serious about her habits such as over-watching TV when it gets close to trying to go to sleep.....This seems to work for her....maybe talk with your doctor about this.......Myself, I don't have any problems with going to sleep.....just sometimes when I paint and get excited of what I'm painting....my mind seems to think about what I'm gonna do the next day with my painting....and I stay awake longer......cause my brain is still "processing thoughts" about what I'm gonna do the next day! I only take 1/2 of Ibuprophin PM, which I buy OTC.....I take it periodically....But, then again I am also Disabled and I stay home everyday....Do you work? is your work stressful? I mean, many things do affect our "sleep patterns".....Our brains are so full of "thoughts" from the days events......all these "brain Neurons" just floating through our brain.....Anyway, good luck with your sleep problems.....
Hey Steven, yea, waking up almost seems like some kind of Movie.....waking up in the same place.....same room, same bed....different brain! Ha!!!It definitely is a journey! Right man! I mean, being "happy" is everything...in that Happiness is the key to life....anyway, thanks for your reply and I wish happiness to you, and everyone else of course!!! : )
"That is a brilliant maneuver! You won't be constantly reminded of what you had and unfortunately lost. Everyone who has suffered a TBI has lost plenty and being constantly reminded is not good. I recently cleaned out my apartment recently, and…"
