TBI Center

I have seen the idea of a tbi center who decided this is where we need a center, and if the state funds this they are going to tell us we gave you a tbi center, as funding is difficult is this really a good way to use a million dollars that money could and should be used to help the groups that are doing these things now, I know groups are hanging on by a thread and we are going to buy a building for a clubhouse, I am not happy about sneaky legislation for private interests while ignoring the… Continue

Hey George: I can understand your frustration with the lack of support groups here in the Yakima area. I have been looking myself and just haven't found anything. I think it is a great idea to maybe start something up...let me know what you think. I know the need is there, it is making it happen. I heard you go to the Spokane support group, how is that? Looking forward to hearing from you...blessings.

Hi George,
How are you? I thought I would write you to see how you are doing? I am getting back to my busy schedule. After having carpafl tunnel surgery on my good wrist. I was just wondering did you have a tbi? If so when and how if you feel like sharing. Mine happened when I was seven years old. My biological father and I went off a mountain cliff in White bird Idaho. I did not have a seat belt on and I flew out the window and hit my head and was knocked into a coma. My dad had to find me and carry me about a mile to find help. We were flown here to Spokanes Sacred heart where I remained in a coma for six weeks and my mom and sister had to find a ride. I had to learn to walk and talk all over again. I am partly paralyzed on my left side because of it. But I feel at least I am alive to help others. I am a self advocate and I have been to Washington Dc and to Olympia twice. But you can do anything if you just put your mind to it. Dont give up! Well I got to go. Write soon if you can.
Debra
