Story of my accident/TBI

My name is Brian and I'm a 21 year old junior at PSU - University Park. My path to get to the school of my dreams has been a bit unusual. Over four years ago (11/7/04) I drove the normal 1 hr voyage from my house to Penn State in order to watch the PSU vs. East Stroudsburg basketball scrimmage. I am a big time sports and Penn State guy, and the game went well. We won in blow out fashion and I was off in my car again to get home. I pulled into Sheetz to get gas and a snack for the road. I'm sure… Continue

I understand. I was not much of a drinker before my accident. If I did have a drink, 1 was all it took to make me tipsy and 2 or more...was just too much. The last time a drank was in a dining establishment 1 month before my accident. It has been 7 months, and I haven't had a drink since then. Sometimes, I would like to drink. It would be easier and eliminate some of the stress of the day and the injury. I just don't do it. I'm afraid it will not "help" with my recovery. I understand your reasoning. I'm concerned for you. Not trying to demand that you change your habits or lifestyle. I'm concerned because, for me, I have difficutly reading body language of others on a regular day. I'm afraid drinking for add to that difficulty. Please be careful. I too was atheletic. I ran, lifted weights, roade a bike, and tried to eat healthy everyday. It's ironic that one ofthose activities actually almost cost me my life....and....those were my way of relaxing....now, I can hardly walk. I certainly can't do those activities that generated the brain chemicalss that gave me comfort. Please be careful.
