I am a brain injury Survivor, Family/Caregiver or professional
Survivor, Family Caregiver, Advocate
What do you find most difficult living with a brain injury
June 19,1989 My family was is a head on Auto accident, That day our lives changed forever.
are you on another social network such as facebook, so we can varify your a real person trying to apply
Grief, confusion, anger, panic attacks, comprehension, verbalizing and processing what was happening around me, physical pain are some of what plagued me. Relearning was no easy task. I tried to Hide my feeling and emotions. I lost my identity to find it in a new and, yes a better way. I liked the person I was. I love the person who I become and I have a greater understand and a passion to experience life in a different mind set. "It is All Good" . It takes WORK it is not easy. I am willing to do just that to become all that I can be..... Yep, I will always be Working, I'll never to old to learn.
what is most important that you learn about brain injury
Being around people who want to protect me from failing, thinking that because I had a brain injury I can't ever inprove or do any better than the day I was injured. They need to learn and understand that kind of thought process can do more harm than good. I even could hold us back from recovery. It is okay to fail. We all need to keep ourselves safe so when we try to progress in life we need to, not put our self in harms way. We have been hurt enough. Now it is time to get to Work so we can Play. Life is a balancing act we need to mix it up with both work and play to fully enjoy who we are. h. .
my or my families brain injury is concidered
Moderate, TBI
