After I spoke, my friend said that my whole body changed as I told her about the technique. At first, I was very tense. She saw me shift into a better frame of mind in about a minute. Grieving The Loss of our Former Selves
This realization has taken 3 years, but has been perhaps the most important step taken in this recovery. Just as I grieved the fatality of my husband as a result of the car crash (we would have celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary while I was in the 6-week coma), I also had to grieve the loss of my former self.

Stand Up For Heroes
This was my second year attending this Stand Up For Heroes event at the Beacon Theatre hosted by the Bob Woodruff foundation. This brilliant fundraiser raises money for veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with a TBI. I watched in amazement as Bruce Springsteen auctioned off the guitar he just finished playing for $160,000!
