Tucker Family Reunion

This Tucker Family Reunion was in May 2013, and was the first time I've reunited with most of this side of my family since the wedding in 2007.

Emotional Impact of Returning To My Maiden Name

I was Angela Betancourt for less than a year before my husband was killed in the car accident where I sustained the TBI.  I was a widow with his name for much longer than we were married, for the past five years.  On the last day of the Tucker family reunion, I announced that I'm legally returning to my maiden name.  Angela Leigh Tucker, who was born in Alabama.  Friends and family ask how it feels.  Truthfully, I feel freed from the daily reminder of what I lost.  Of who I lost.  I embrace my…See More

I help individuals whom want to help themselves...  I work with Subliminal Audios, White Light Meditations, Speed Thinking & Mental Alertness plus IQ Genius Intelligence CD's.  The goal is to come ALL THE WAY back & even exceed a normal brain;s function which can done 100% thru compensation of the non-injured brain...  So it comes down to whether you believe in your own healing power or not...

Hi! Thanks for the add! I'm going to try to be more active on this thing. I'll definitely need the moral support after cracking the screen on my iPad. haha I just realized how I need to get support and focus on the positive. This is the place for that I'm sure! I'll have to upload some photographs I've taken with me in them mostly. I just got a new camera for "Xmas" but I can't open it until then. Bah humbug! haha Take care and chat with you on this site!

Hello wonderful you!  Thinking of you today, as I was telling someone of the Ted Talk on confidence and body lingo!  After I spoke, my friend said that my whole body changed as I told her about the technique. At first, I was very tense. She saw me shift into a better frame of mind in about a minute.  How cool is that?   Thanks for the info, and the inspiration.  - love, liz

Surviving a Car Crash is Easy Compared to the Holidays

Once you've survived a challenge like many of us have, surviving the holidays is a piece of cake.  Gingerbread cake that is...  But having a survival kit that's ready to use is very helpful.  Please share good tips here!  These are a few of my best tricks that make my holidays more enjoyable and manageable:

1.) I'm invited to LOTS of holiday parties.  Once I've established a plan on how to get there (because I don't drive), I always ask the host if I can help set up.  This offer is…

6th Annual Stand Up For Heroes

The Bob Woodruff Foundation is hosting it's 6th Annual "Stand Up For Heroes" benefit event in New York City on Thursday, November 8th at the Beacon Theater (2124 Broadway Ave in NYC).  Past talent included Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart & Jerry Seinfeld.  Tickets are on sale now & support a worthy cause of taking care of our veterans with TBI.  This will be the third time I Take A Stand.

Grieving The Loss of our Former Selves

This realization has taken 3 years, but has been perhaps the most important step taken in this recovery.  Just as I grieved the fatality of my husband as a result of the car crash (we would have celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary while I was in the 6-week coma), I also had to grieve the loss of my former self.

Like any death, it's a sadness that sneaks up on me.  Especially when I'm confused or dealing with neural fatigue.  Whenever experiencing anger,…

Stand Up For Heroes

This was my second year attending this Stand Up For Heroes event at the Beacon Theatre hosted by the Bob Woodruff foundation.  This brilliant fundraiser raises money for veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with a TBI.  I watched in amazement as Bruce Springsteen auctioned off the guitar he just finished playing for $160,000!  An anonymous bidder then gave the guitar to a solider who returned home in a wheelchair with no legs.  He is a victim of war, is a hero and is someone we…
