Peer to Peer Brain Injury Support Groups

Central Washington Disability Resources
422 N. Pine Street, Ellensburg.
For individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries or similar disorders:
2nd Monday of every month, Noon - 1:30 p.m. Bring brown bag lunch.
4th Thursday of every month, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Coffee and support.
3rd Wednesday of every month, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Caregiving and family support issues.

The purpose of a support group is to learn more about brain injury and available services by meeting with others who are facing or have faced similar challenges. The essential elements of a support group are:

Gather information
Share common needs and strengths
Provide a place to meet new friends and find new connections in the community
Provide a safe place to find courage and take risks
Provide an opportunity to socialize
Provide an environment where positive and negative views can be expressed without being judged
