TBI SUPPORT GROUP

Cascade Park is now hosting an open traumatic brain injury (TBI) support group. As part of the statewide TBI project, we are moving forward with providing the resources and tools necessary for people to deal with acquired brain injuries. The support group is free of charge and open to all members of the community involved with TBI in some way. Meetings take place at Cascade Park Active Day, although the support group is independent of our TBI Adult Day Health Program. We hope to see you there!

What is a support group?

A support group is a place to share stories and experiences related to TBI. Support groups are available for survivors, caregivers, family members, friends, or care providers. At a support group participants can:

  • Learn more about life with TBI
  • Share successful strategies and achievements to help others develop coping skills
  • Be comfortable sharing personal experiences (in a confidential setting) of both difficult and successful times
  • Find out about the newest trends and information related to TBI
  • Feel supported by having peers who have gone through similar situations
  • Benefit from socializing and building friendships in a safe environment
  • Get involved in the community

Thanks for your comment. We are entering our third month for the support group now, and starting to move ahead with work on the TBI state-wide project. Very exciting stuff. We hope to build more friendships on here.
