Lisa.. we're all artists who support each other.

Think of us as a subset of the Brain Injury support group.

Good day to everyone! the amazing thing is that we survived and can now paint the beauty we each see on this Earth! yea, sometimes things seem weird in our lives...but one good thing is we take everything in at a slower-calmer speed! Please see my paintings on my page- phil espinoza.

I AM USING AN ANDROID TO TYPE HIS-SO, PLESSE EXCUSE ERRORS! I AM NEW TO THIS GROUP AND I CAN SEE ITS GONNA BE GREAT BEING HERE. I WAS A MUSICIA FOR BOUT 10 YEARS BEFORE AN ATV ACCIDENT THAT PUT ME IN A 3 MONTH COMA IN SEP 2008. I ALSO HAD BOUT 2 STROKES WHILE IN COMA. ANYWAY...I LOVE TO PAINT! I LOSSED ALOT OF GUITAR PLAYING, SO I DECIDED TO TRY MY HAND AT PAINTING. I LOVE IT. IT INVOLVES SELF EXPRESSION, LIKE SINGING AND PLAYING GUITAR. AS SOON AS I FIGURE OUT HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOS WITH MY ANDROID...I WILL UPLOAD SOME PHOTOS OF MY ALIC PAINTINGS. ANYWAY, THE TBI IS DEFINITELY A CHALLENGE. IT DEFINITELY REQUIRES ALOT OF "ACCEPTING AND LETTING GO". IN ORDER TO ADJUST TO OURNEW LIFE. ANYWAY, I PAINT ALOT OF BUTTERFLIESAND FLOWERS. THE BUTTERFLY IS AN AMAZING INSECT! I MEAN, FROM A CATTAPILLSR WITH MANY LEGS.....IT TRANSFORMS INTO A FLYING BUTTERFLY! I MEAN, THATS AN ADJUSTMENT! AMAZING, AND IT CONTINUES TO SURVIVE AND ADJUST INSIDE ITS NEW BODY AND MIND! AND I KNOW WE WILL TOO! ANYWAY EVERYONE...MY NAME IS PHIL....GOOD TO BE HERE!

Tucker Family Reunion

This Tucker Family Reunion was in May 2013, and was the first time I've reunited with most of this side of my family since the wedding in 2007.

Emotional Impact of Returning To My Maiden Name

I was Angela Betancourt for less than a year before my husband was killed in the car accident where I sustained the TBI.  I was a widow with his name for much longer than we were married, for the past five years.  On the last day of the Tucker family reunion, I announced that I'm legally returning to my maiden name.  Angela Leigh Tucker, who was born in Alabama.  Friends and family ask how it feels.  Truthfully, I feel freed from the daily reminder of what I lost.  Of who I lost.  I embrace my…See More
