I am looking for an eye doctor that I can go to. I live in Missoula, Mt, and currently travel to Sheridan Wyoming, 450 miles away, for treatment. Anyone closer?

I guess that I should have been more clear. I need an eye-doctor who is a member of N.O.R.A, they specialize with visual difficulties due to brain trauma. My eyes are perfect. My brain is not. You see with your brain, working through your eyes.

I do thank you for the response. I need a N.O.R.A. doctor.   Goob

What does N.O.R.A. stand for. I hope that my Neuro-opthamologist is one of these because for the first time in over a year I have a prescription for glasses. Actually two. One for the computer and one for distance.

I was listening to someone on blog radio who said they woke up cross-eyes after their TBI and I had to laugh because I went to three different Dr.'s convinced that I was going blind and finally this one took the time to explain that my brain is not telling my eyes to converge at the same rate.  He also had me doing 10 sets of pencil push-ups a day that I think helped.

My biggest fear is that I will go blind and I often wake in the middle of the night to turn on the light to make sure I can still see.

Good luck with finding someone way out there.

Darcy

N.O.R.A. stands for Neurological Opthamological Rehabilitative Association . I know the spelling is wrong, but you get the point. I read a study that said neurological rehabilitation comes to a halt until the eyesight is corrected. The eyes are a huge part of the information we receive from the outside world. If the brain is struggling to process that information, it cannot develop new pathways to make up for the ones damaged.

I really hope that you take this seriously. There is help out there. I just made it back from a trip down to Sheridan. My eye sight is getting better. My doctor had new therapy for me to try.    Good Luck   GW
