Bully Me Not Panel
People First of Washington is so excited to share our newly-developed workshop, “Bully Me Not” at this year’s Community Summit. The workshop includes a Jeopardy game focusing on issues around bullying that will involve audience participation. If time allows we will play a video that shows individuals how to deal with bullying behavior. This presentation will be done by Student First educators-Bill Fale with Michelle Broeckling . Bullying is a hurtful action that affects everyone no matter what age or challenges.
Co-Creating Individualized Supports with Families and Individuals (Workshop)
This workshop informs individuals, family members, support providers and government officials of the essential ingredients for creating and implementing individualized supports. The primary focus is how providers, families and individuals shift roles to partner when designing and executing individualized supports. Shifting from program offerings to individualized supports requires realigning relationships among government, providers, families, individuals with disabilities and various community entities. This interactive session explores the practical aspects that encourage co-created supports as opposed to a delegated service arrangement. Personal and organizational examples of creative support arrangements (including paid-neighbors and living near-and- next-to staffing) will be shared. Participants will explore through discussion and exercises their current relational orientation and how that may change as services evolve to co-created partnerships.
